Bridges across the Loire

From the house in Beaumont en Veron it’s was just a short ride down to the river. We always stopped to say hello to the cows and horses at the side of the cycle track.

This ride is totally flat on smooth fast main roads with very few cars to spoil the ride. The lack of vehicles and people is something you notice about this area the most. When you reach a village there is never anyone around. Always quiet and peaceful.

A favourite place to always stop for a coffee is the village of Langeais. Always quiet with a massive chateau in the centre makes this a popular spot for cyclists and for us is halfway around the 64km loop.

After a break is back along the river side through Brehemont and onto a gravel section which takes us back towards base.

Fast and flat as long as it’s not windy because if it is, it can make some sections a bit of a slog.

Ride rating. 6/10

Scenery. 8/10

Coffee stops. 9/10
